MARCH NEWSLETTER (including Artlandish weekender!)

MARCH NEWSLETTER

Folk workshop – This Wednesday, in our usual 2 – 6pm slot, we will be upping the ante and beginning to create some larger scale structures using willow, paper and fabric – we are working towards the closing ceremony which is coming around fast. We are not ready to tell all yet (unless you come to our workshop) but save the date of the 28th of March around sunset as we are planning something pretty special.

Poetry night – From 7 – 9pm on Wednesday night we have another poetry workshop with the wonderful Bertram Holt. If you’ve not been before don’t be put off, newcomers are welcome and everyone’s creativity changes the group in subtle ways which really moves the dynamic forward. As always, there will be tea, biscuits and chatter along with some poetry.

Flee exhibition last week – There is another opportunity this week to catch the Flee exhibition, which is open on Thursday, Friday and closing on Saturday at 5pm. We are very proud of the work in this exhibition which has been created by artists and folk with lived experience, providing a thoughtful insight into migration, and domestic abuse.

Artlandishing Weekender – We are super excited to present our mega Arts event on the 7th and 8th of March, in which we will be presenting music, workshops and poetry. There is something for all, and as usual it is ALL FREE.

We are very honoured to have so many acts performing for free to raise the profile of our little art community, so do come along and enjoy the fun – please see the attached program of events for full details.

We are pleased to once again be working with Weirdshire to create this program, there will be early afternoon bands starting from midday, then workshops including a giant draw, TetraPak printing and a zine workshop during the afternoon, and then from 5.30 we will have some great music and poetry acts. Please do come along for part of the day or all of the day, as usual you will be very welcome.

Hope to see you at one (or more) of these, your support as always is hugely appreciated, and every single one of you can help us to build this into something really special 🙂
