The final week! Heads down for the finish line…

Hello Dear Artlandishers,

While three months seemed to be a long time, we have whistled through the project and are amazed to be nearing the end of this run…but we still have a few cards up our sleeve and we are hoping that you might want to be involved.

Here’s a quick look at what’s left…

Here Without Home Exhibition open 11-5pm on Thursday, Friday & Saturday

Artlandish & Unorthodox Paradox Live radio Broadcast from number 4

Closing Ceremony Saturday 28th  learn th songs from 3-5pm Procession leaves at 6pm(ish)

Unfortunately, the community choir scheduled for this Friday will not be taking place.

Here Without Home Private View

We had a fantastic PV for the last exhibition, it stretched on longer than any other, lots of folks enjoying and contemplating the works, so thanks to all who came. We are very pleased to exhibit the fantastic Community Sleeping Bag, expressing compassionate messages to the homeless, this venture was spearheaded by the amazing Theresa Clarke, and we collected over 100 squares of embroidery and collated them together to create something quite magical, we are so proud to have completed this miracle, so check it out.

There is still time to catch the exhibition, the gallery will be open from 11-5 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Artlandish and Unorthodox Paradox Live Broadcast from number 4

For one night only, Unorthodox Paradox Radio will be taking over the Project Space at Artlandish for an evening of wildly eclectic music, presented by your hosts Sir Real & Grindi. The evening will be simultaneously broadcast live on the internet, so if you can’t make it in person you can tune in online to be part of the ‘happening’. Entry to this event is completely FREE, and there will be board games, creative fun, stupid chatter, maybe some silly dancing, and live performances from special guests Martha & Hazel. Never to be repeated (unless it is), this will be an event like Sex Pistols at the Free Trade Hall, or Velvet Underground at The Exploding Plastic Inevitable – if you aren’t there, you’ll beforever pretending that you were 😉

7pm – 11pm in the Project Space @ 4, Gomond Street, Hereford

Alula Down and Carausius Arise

Over the run we have been very lucky to have had Weirdshire linking with us to create some beautiful music events, and on March 17th we had a fantastic night where we were treated to a 30-minute set including vintage recording on a reel-to-reel from Alula Down, the gentle vocals and beautiful instrumentation was a joy for the ears, and when Carausius Arise played that joy was continued, with excellent modular skills and spine tingling vocals the room was enthralled.

This collaboration has been a wonderful thing that we hope to build on if we secure more funding for Artlandish, so watch this space.

Poetry Night with Bertram Holt (that Geeza Bird)

The last poetry night was a roaring success with lots of new faces in the group, there were many verses spun and fun times had by all who attended and many cries of ‘why didn’t we come before?’ We would like to send a huge thank you to the amazing ‘Geeza Bird’ for coming up and facilitating this brilliant workshop group fortnightly for the last three months all the way from Bristol, and bringing light, warmth and bags of enthusiasm to this fantastic event.

Closing Ceremony – 28th March

Please do come along and enjoy our final event in this run at Artlandish.

For the last month we have been hosting a community choir in the Project Space, the numbers have been growing and some songs have been learnt for our final ceremony. We wanted to do something beautiful for the last event, so we have linked with Hereford Cathedral and are planning a lantern walk from number 4 at 6pm on Saturday the 28th.

If you want to come and learn the songs to sing you will be very welcome to come to the project space at 3-5pm

If you just wish to come and view please come down to the project space for 6pm,

We have been working on a big surprise for weeks now and it will ensure that the final ceremony will be something to remember.

THIS IS NOT TO BE MISSED.

ARTLANDISH WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXHIBITED, CREATED WORKSHOPS, SUPERVISED EVENTS, CREATED NICE SPACES, OR HAVE COME TO OUR EVENTS.

Without you we are nothing
